FIVE PIECE STERLING TEA AND COFFEE SET WITH SILVER PLATED TRAY AND MATCHING STERLING PIE SERVER MARKED “FORD & TUPPER”. The fabulous set having handles decorated with Jack-in-the-Pulpit type flower, and marked “Ford & Tupper 925 Sterling”. The set consists of an 11″ coffee pot, 10″ tea pot, 9″ covered sugar, 7-1/2″ creamer, and a 4-1/2″ waste bowl. All pieces have a wonderful engraved design of cross hatching with leafy vines. Monogrammed on each piece “J.E.S.”. Accompanying the set is a 10-3/4″ matching pie server and a 30″ x 20″ two-handled silver plated tray, also monogrammed. NOTE: Accompanying the set is a framed photograph of John B. Smart, the father of the bride who received this as a wedding gift. Also, a newspaper clipping dated May 7, 1875 from the Town of Dunmore, Pennsylvania which goes in great detail about the wedding of John B. Smith’s (General Manager of Pennsylvania Coal Company) daughter Julia to the Rev. W. Galpin of Hawley, Pennsylvania. In the newspaper article is mentioned this silver tea set as the gift of Mr. & Mrs. J.B. Smith. Total Weight: 80 troy ounces without tray. SIZE: As noted above.
