Gouache scene shows the black hulled two mast single stack steam yacht sailing left to right in blue, white tipped wave ocean. Partial sails up with 5 hands on deck. Housed in a modern gilt frame with white matte and gilt inner liner, signed lower right “De Simone.” REFERENCE: Built in 1896 by John S. White & Co. at Isle of Wight, England; Acquired by the Navy for WWI in 1917. Owned by C.N. Nelson. SIZE: Sight: 16-3/4″ x 25-3/4″.
