HEAVY HALF STOCK CONVERSION KENTUCKY RIFLE. CAL. about 40. Seven groove 37-3/4″ oct. bbl with long reverse mounted rear sight and small German silver front blade. The bbl is unmarked with the lock plate marked “WARREN/ALBANY”. The lock plate and hammer have light engraving. The stock is modestly figured with a German silver running fox on the small cheek piece and a fine engraved filigree patch box. The trigger guard is also brass with light engraving. Dbl set triggers and a brass nose pipe, pewter foreend cap and two iron ramrod guides with the orig. brass tipped hickory ramrod. Crescent-style brass buttplate with engraved tang and toe plate. CONDITION: Good. The metal cleaned to bright with light pitting around the nipple area and slivers missing from the left bbl channel. Stock is cracked on left side panel. Otherwise, shows moderate to heavy wear with the remains of an old refinish. Good mechanics. 4-45698 JL190 (700-1,200)
