SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1868 TRAPDOOR MUSKET. CAL. 50CF. Usual configuration with 32 1/2″ bbl secured with 2-bands, slotted head ramrod, 1863 dated lock with ladder rear sight. The left flat of stock has outline of two cartouches. SN 5729 CONDITION: Very good. Metal retains a light gray brown patina with traces of orig. blue around the bands. Receiver., breech block, lock plate and hammer all retain a light gray patina. Wood is sound and retains most of a recent refinish. Strong bore with scattered pitting. 4-45692 Z195 (500-800)
