SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1868 TRAPDOOR RIFLE. CAL. 50-70. Standard rifle with 32 5/8″ bbl, 2-bbl. bands, slotted head ramrod, short arch breech block and long receiver front end. Upper band has sling swivel only. SN 12029 CONDITION: Good. Metal retains a mottled blue-brown. The rear sight is broken and the top tang screw is missing. Wood is sound, showing heavy use and some battering with a deep gouge through the right wrist. Strong bore in need of a cleaning. 4-44767 JL234 (400-600)
