JOHN RUHLANDER PITCHER Very rare pitcher by noted New Jersey glass artist John Ruhlander has opaque white swirls against a rose colored background. Pitcher is finished with an applied clear handle in beautiful sweeping design. This exact pitcher is illustrated in The Glass Gaffers of New Jersey by Adeline Pepper on page 260. The pitcher was acquired by our consignor directly from descendents of John Ruhlander. It is our understanding that John Ruhlander worked at Whithall Tatum and that virtually all of his works were made on his own time as one of a kind pieces that he brought home to his family and to this day nearly all of these remain in the hands of the family. COMMEMORATIVE PORCELAIN PLAQUE Wonderful porcelain plaque was done to commemorate Louis Pasteur. Plaque is decorated with head of Pasteur in relief with a Laurel leaf headdress. The head of Pasteur is unglazed, while the Laurel leaf headdress and blue background are glazed. The plaque is printed with “Pasteur 1822-1895” and impressed with artist’s name “E. Lachenal”. STERLING DRESSER SET Nice 3-piece sterling silver dresser set consists of a hair brush, a clothes brush and a tortoise shell comb. ENGLISH CAMEO BLANK Very unusual and interesting vase is believed to be a pattern blank for an English cameo vase, most likely Webb. EIGHT QUEZAL DECORATED SHADES Outstanding set of Quezal shades have a green and gold iridescent pulled feather design surrounding the entire shade and extending from top to bottom. The decoration is set against a lightly iridescent muted green background. Interior of shades have bright gold iridescence.
