RARE T. MURCOTT “MOUSETRAP” 16 GA BAR ACTION SIDELOCK SHOTGUN.

SN 2446. Cal. 16 ga. 30″ Damascus bbls, 2-3/4″ chambers, choked CYL/CYL. Full length Damascus top rib with brass front bead marked “T. MURCOTT 68 HAYMARKET LONDON”. Dbl triggers, extractor, top bar safety. Straight grip buttstock checkered in 2-pt pattern with teardrop behind action, nickel oval near toe and 14-3/8″ LOP over full steel buttplate. Splinter forearm checked in 4-pt pattern with triangular horn tip and wedge fastener. Receiver is lightly scroll engraved with sculpted bottom rails and marked “T. MURCOTT” on sides. Top of action near fully scroll engraved and inlaid in gold “LOCK’D’ on left in front of safety bar. London reproof in 2013. Weight: 6lb. 10oz. CONDITION: Excellent, as partially refurbished. Bbls retain nearly all of their professionally restored finish. Buttstock and forearm are excellent and retain most of their professionally restored finish. There is a minor grain separation noted on top right stock finger, otherwise sound overall. Receiver has toned mostly gray. SN 2024.34. Cal. 16 ga. 26-3/4″ Krupp fluid steel bbl. 2-3/8″ chambers. Choked Full/Full. Full length matted rib with brass front bead. Dbl gold-plated triggers, auto ejectors, auto safety. Horn-capped full pistol grip stock with cheekpiece on right side checkered in three-point pattern with fancy French Walnut and 14-1/8″ LOP over lined horn buttplate. Splinter forearm with Curtis push button release is checkered in four-point pattern. Blued receiver is nicely border engraved with floral bursts around screws and gold inlaid “PRAHA” on right and “J.Nowotny” on left. Also with gold inlaid “Z” in front of safety. Sling swivels mounted near toe and middle of bbl. Weight: 6 lbs. 9 oz. CONDITION: Very good. Bbls retain 85-90% orig blued finish with light handling marks and one more significant dent in left tube approx 11-1/2″ from muzzle towards bottom. Housed in a black plastic case with blue felt interior which includes orig instruction manual and a total of four choke tubes. Weight: 6 lbs. 12 oz. CONDITION: 1)Excellent and near new. Likely test fired only. Bbl retains nearly all of its orig blued finish with a couple of small spots of light oxidation towards muzzle, from storage. Receiver retains nearly all of its orig case color and stock and forearm are both excellent and near mint. Gun is very tight and has been shot very little. *LOT OF TWO REMINGTON MODEL 11-48 HIGH GRADE SEMI-AUTOMATIC SHOTGUN WITH CONSECUTIVE SERIAL NUMBERS.

SN 4045495. Cal. 28ga. Virtually identical pair of skeet grade Remington shotguns that have 25″ vent rib bbls choked Full that have Bradley white plastic front beads and silver middle beads. Receivers are identically engraved with a large panel of leaf and vine patterns that have a rnd vignettes engraved “FHB”. Right side of receivers are engraved with matching leaf & vine patterns. Matching engraving patterns extend over top of receivers, down both sides of the bbls over the chamber area and on trigger guards. Tips of trigger pins are lightly engraved. Bottom front of the receivers are identically engraved “Remington / MODEL 11-48 / SERIAL NUMBER”. Both guns are mounted with very highly figured American Claro walnut with large rnd forearms and white line capped pistol grip stocks that have white line black composition, Remington embossed buttplates. The tail of the trigger guards are marked “F” & “D”. CONDITION: Both guns are virtually identically condition, retaining about 99% plus crisp, orig blue and wood finish. Mechanics are crisp.
