D’AVESN LUMINAIRE.

Luminaire has glass oval with intaglio carved nude maiden with scarf in her hands and a pressed glass spray of leaves surrounding. It rests on a silver-plated lighted stand. Piece is signed at the bottom of the glass insert “P. D’Avesn”. SIZE: 7-3/8″ t. PROVENANCE: From an Unreserved Maryland collection. LOT OF SEVEN D’AVESN GLASS ITEMS.

1) Clear glass vase (attributed to D’Avesn) has controlled bubble interior and is finished with an applied four loop handle on each side. Unsigned. 2) White milk glass vase has pressed design of stylized flowers. Signed on the underside in raised block letters “P. D’Avesn France”. 3) D’Avesn vase is done in yellow glass with heavy vertical ribbing around the slightly flaring body. Signed on the underside “P. D’Avesn Made in France”. 4) Vase is decorated with leaf design as well as leaf handles all in white opalescence against a clear glass body. Marked on the underside “Sevres P. D’Avesn”. 5) Smokey quartz colored bowl is impressed with overlapping leaf design surrounding the exterior of the bowl. Marked on the underside “P. D’Avesn France”. 6) Pressed glass shallow bowl has a pattern of three opalescent fish against a clear patterned background. The rim of the bowl is also opalescent. Signed on the underside “P. D’Avesn France”. 7) Footed shallow bowl is done in amber glass and has a pressed design of overlapping stylized leaves. Marked on the underside “D’Avesn France”. Galle marquetry vase is beautifully decorated with inlaid pink, green and white water lilies with green lily pads surrounding the vase. GALLE CAMEO EGG VASE.

Galle covered vase in the shape of an egg has amber glass foot supporting the egg shaped vase. It is decorated with amber glass cameo trees covering two thirds of the vase. The cameo decoration is set against a frosted cream shading to pink background. The vase is completed with a domed lid decorated with three dark amber cameo butterflies in flight. Galle nightlight has red cameo deeply carved flowers, stems and leaves surrounding the body against a frosted cream colored background. The nightlight rests in a silver plated frame with three flying fish creating legs with the wings supporting the nightlight. It is topped with a silver plated cap with ventilation holes.
