Very unique Galle vase has opaque powder blue outer layer of glass on top of a heavy yellow glass core with mottled dark blue internal decoration at the foot. The cameo butterflies are nicely detailed and irregular bands around the butterflies are cut through to the yellow core giving a very artistic feel to this unusual vase. G. ARGY ROUSSEAU GARDEN OF HESPERIDES VASE.

Extraordinary pate de verre vase by G. Argy Rousseau in the Garden of Hesperides (sometimes referred to as Apple Picker) pattern is beautifully decorated with a repeated Greek mythology scene of an evening nymph guarding the apple trees of Hera’s garden following her marriage to Zeus. Each of the three maidens is done in bright fuchsia, under the red apples of the trees with dark violet branches and trunks, all over a stylized greek-key bottom border in mottled red and violet. Vase retains “The Elton John Collection” sticker on the bottom. Signed “G Argy-Rousseau” on side of vase and “France” on the underside. Schneider vase is decorated with bunches of applied black grapes which are flameworked and wheel carved. The grapes repeat three times around the vase and are suspended from inlaid green and brown vines, all against a mottled orange background which darkens at the top. The vase is supported by an applied mottled purple foot and stem. Signed on top of the foot with engraved signature “Schneider”. SCHNEIDER WHEEL CARVED VASE.

Schneider art glass vase is decorated with applied flameworked red currants, each with a small purple/black dot at the blossom end. After being applied the currants are wheel carved to give dimension. The currant bunches repeat themselves three times around the vase and are set against a yellow and orange mottled background shading to red and orange at the top. The vase is further decorated with green and brown inlaid stems connecting the bunches of currants. The vase rests on an iron three legged base with hammered leaves and four glass beads depicting fruit. Signed on the side near foot with etched signature “Schneider France”.
