SCHNEIDER WHEEL CARVED GRAPE VASE.

Schneider vase is decorated with bunches of applied black grapes which are flameworked and wheel carved. The grapes repeat three times around the vase and are suspended from inlaid green and brown vines, all against a mottled orange background which darkens at the top. The vase is supported by an applied mottled purple foot and stem. Signed on top of the foot with engraved signature “Schneider”. This exact vase is illustrated in the book Charles Schneider by Joulin/Maier, pg.280. SIZE: 12″ t. PROVENANCE: From the Roy and Susan Bittan Collection.
