SN 6/04369. Cal. 20 x 30-06 x 22 Hornet. 23-3/4″ Mono-bloc bbl group has solid matted rib fitted with standard sights and Blaser QD scope mounting system. Dural action with Krieghoff type cocking slide features dbl triggers. Relatively plain European walnut extreme pistol grip buttstock with hogback comb and Bavarian style cheekpiece has relief carved oak leaves and acorns at rear and grip, which flank carved fishtail checkering. Horn grip cap completes extreme pistol grip. Stock is fitted with open sided brown pad. Matching schnabeled forend has Deeley type release. Bore diameter: top -.626. Bore restrictions: top – .027 (full). Drop at heel: approx 2-3/4″, drop at comb: approx 1-7/16″. Neutral cast. Weight: 7 lbs. 12 oz. LOP: 14-1/4″. PROVENANCE: Instruction manual. SN 25.725. Cal. 30-06/30-06 and 16 ga/ 222 Rem. 24-3/4″ Double Rifle bbls with no mid ribs, have top bbl fitted with full length matted rib, central portion cut away forming quarter rib and front sight ramp. Rifle/ shotgun bbls with similar rib are engraved with makers name and address on rib. Both sets are fitted with claw scope bases. Coin finished scallop backed double Kersten OU Blitz action features automatic tang safety, bushed strikers, and dbl triggers (both set). Action is engraved with near full coverage large open scrolling acanthus surrounding game scenes; running roebuck on left, wild boar on right, and a duck on bottom of action. Trigger guard is steel. Relatively plain European walnut capped pistol grip buttstock with Bavarian cheekpiece measures 14-1/4″ over old “White Line” rifle pad. Bottom piece of 3-pc forend serves both bbl sets, and has Deeley release. Double Rifle bbls: Drop at heel: approx 3-1/4″, drop at comb: approx 1-7/8″. Slightly cast off. SN 108.24. Cal. 20 ga/20 ga/.25-35 Cal. 26-5/8″ Prima Essen steel bbls with 2-3/4″ chambers, bbls choked MOD/MOD. Matted top rib with rear buckhorn sight, mid flip-up sights and steel front blade with small ramp. Double triggers, extractor and a non-automatic safety. Greener crossbolt locking with back action locks. Capped pistol grip buttstock with small cheekpiece on left side, with 14″ LOP over lined horn buttplate. Receiver is near fully engraved with deer, rabbits and geese all surrounded by well cut oak leaf pattern and has side clips. Splinter forearm with Deeley release checkered in 4-point pattern. Visible SNs match. Weight: 7lbs 1oz. CONDITION: Good. Bbls retain approximately 65% orig blued finish with beginning erosion at grip. Buttstock and forearm are good. Checkering has thinned and both retain most of an older restored finish with sling swivel hole plugged in butt and a couple of minor areas of white paint near buttplate. Top lever return spring is broken and in need of repair – an easy fix. Otherwise mechanics are functional. Shotgun bores are bright and shiny; rifle bore is good with fowling and shows some wear to lands and grooves. BUCHEL patent action with removable trigger system has Buchel Pat embossed hard rubber grips on opening lever. Action is case hardened and engraved with well cut large scrolling acanthus surrounding scenes of target boy dancing due to bullseye scored by shooter, on left, and an old Jaeger on right. Lightly figured European walnut stock has deeply hooked butt and large saddle carved cheekpiece. Action top tang is fitted with what appears to be orig diopter sight. CONDITION: Excellent. Metal parts retain over 90% of their orig finishes with some light flecking and silvering. Stocks have nearly all their orig varnish with numerous marks. These pistols were considered one of the “better class” pistols of its time. The World Championships of 1911, 1912 and 1913 were all won with Tell pistols. SN 5222. (1971) Cal. 12 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 27-1/2″ Mono-bloc bbls are fitted with broad matted ventilated rib. Left side of top bbl is engraved “Wirnhier – Spezial Skeet 68″, and appear to be bored with Tula chokes. Bbls are extra thick for the last 4” toward muzzles. Piotti name is on bottom flat and on action, but does not appear on exterior of action. Low profile coin finished OU action with false sideplates features single non-selective trigger, and non-automatic safety. Action and lockplates are engraved with near full coverage well cut medium sized scroll. Engravers signature “A Muffolini” is on trigger plate. Nicely figured and lightly marbled European walnut round knob pistol grip Monte Carlo buttstock measures 14-1/8″ over brown leather covered pad. Matching full forend has Deeley type release. Bore diameter: top -.729, bottom – .729. Bore restrictions: top – .065 recess then with .025 restriction, bottom – .065 recess then .015 restriction. Wall thickness: top – .029, bottom – .029. Drop at heel: 2-5/8″, drop at rear of Monte Carlo: 2-3/16″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 7 lbs. 12 oz. LOP: 14-1/8″. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining over 90% of all finishes with silvering on high edges of bbls. Wood finish has some scratches and dents. Bores are fine, with some light scratches toward breech ends. SN 52232. Cal. 12 ga. 32″ bbl with 2-3/4″ chambers. Full set of choke tubes included. Full length matted low profile ventilated top rib with brass mid-bead and orange plastic front sight. Gold plated SST. Automatic ejectors. Non-auto safety. Full knob pistol grip buttstock checkered in 2-point pattern with palm swell on right with 13-7/8 LOP over checkered wooden buttplate. Near fully checkered forearm with push button release. Full sidelock receiver is nicely engraved with flying ducks on right, flying quail on bottom and setter with woodcock on left surrounded by nicely executed scroll engraving and signed on trigger plate “Bottega C. Giovanelli”. Housed in a black hard Rizinni case with green felt interior. All visible SN’s match. WEIGHT: 7lbs 13oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Has seen almost no use and retains most orig finish to both wood and metal. There are only a couple of very minor handling marks throughout. Very fine case with only minor rubs and scrapes. SN 54208. Cal. 12 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 30-1/4″ Mono-bloc bbls have matted ventilated rib. Coin finished low profile OU action is engraved with deep relief scroll on sides and with man holding gold inlaid Rizzini crest over his head, on bottom. Engravers signature, “Giovanelli”, is beside trigger group housing. Attractively figured and streaked European walnut extreme pistol grip buttstock with palm swell measures 14-3/4″ over thin black pad. One piece forend has Anson type release. Bore diameter: top -.726, bottom – .726. Bore restrictions: top – .041 (extra full), bottom – .035 (full). Drop at heel: 2-1/8″, drop at comb: 1-7/16″. Cast slightly off. Weight: 7 lbs. 15 oz. LOP: 14-3/4″. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining nearly orig finishes on wood and metal, with a number of light handling marks and dings. Bottom of action shows flecking and browning.
