CAST IRON DOORSTOP “BATHING GIRLS” BY HUBLEY.

Ca. 1920 Hubley Foundry, Lancaster, PA. Cast in half round form, figure of two stylized bathing beauties under an umbrella seated atop a tapering pedestal painted in polychrome colors marked on the base “Fish” for the artist/illustrator Anne Fish and marked on reverse model no. “250”. REFERENCE: “The Doorstop Book” by John & Nancy Smith, P. 213. NOTE: This is a rare example with one figure in pink & green suit with green cap. SIZE: 11″ H, 5 1/4″ W, 1 3/4″ D CONDITION: Very good overall. Original paint mostly intact with minor darkening and slight paint loss. 9-93900 (3,000-4,000) – Lot 3073
