UNUSUAL CARVED SIX-LEG BARREL CHAIR.

Late 19th century, US or Continental. Constructed in walnut with barrel back, panels mortised and pegged in uprights with oval foliate carved panels. Corner posts with carved foo dog tops. Circular seat originally fitted with cane, all above 6 cabriole legs ending in claw feet with acanthus carved knees separated by boldly turned spoke stretchers. All constructed in walnut with parcel gilt decoration. SIZE: 37″ H, 30″ L, 28″ D CONDITION: Very good with expected shrinkage and wear commensurate with age. Minor glue repair to one back post and glue repair to one front leg along with grain. Cane seat needs replacement. 9-94458 (1,500-2,500) – Lot 2761
