CHAVIN BLACKWARE CERAMIC WITH TROPHY HEAD MOTIF.

700-400 B.C. Peru. A highly burnished blackware stirrup spout vessel with an incised motif of a double trophy head attached by a cord. Other Chavin vessels with incised glyphs are illustrated in Lapiner, fig’s. 86, 94, 104, & 113 SIZE: 8-1/4″ high. PROVENANCE: David Bernstein Fine Art NYC. CONDITION: Very good.
