Folk art portrait of the wife of Rufus Kendall. Wonderful oil on canvas half portrait of a woman in fancy outfit. She wears a black dress with waist belt having large gold buckle. Neck is trimmed with lace. She wears matching brooches, earrings and ring. Her hair has tight curls with green gold embossed ribbons. A red shawl completes her outfit with the end of the shawl turned up, showing a paisley pattern. Unsigned. Mid-19th Century. Housed in a black and gold painted antique frame.
