VERY FINE EARLY 18TH CENTURY HANDLED STERLING BOWL. Low bowl on pedestal base decorated with serpentine flared flutes at bottom of bowl, with stylized repousse scrolled band under flared rim. Well finished caryatid handles. Marked in band with hallmarks for Gabriel Sleath. (“SL” in rectangle under urn device.)Britannia standard, London, 1709. SIZE: 3-1/4″ high. 8-1/4″ diameter. 10-3/4″ wide. 18 oz. 19.167 dwt. PROVENANCE: From a fine Kentucky Estate. CONDITION: Excellent. Wonderful patina, only the slightest rubbing. No noted repairs.
