Oil on canvas Housed in a magnificent gesso decorated period frame with two gold liners with minor losses Signed lower left “Frank Russell Green A.N.A” Born in Chicago, Frank Green’s education and reputation went far beyond the mid-west. First training in Paris he later moved to Boston and New York where he worked as an illustrator for Harper’s as well as for other major publishing houses. When not doing commercial work, his style, as seen in the painting on offer has all the elements of American Impressionism, but also references his regional roots in his choice of subject and narrative.
