Intricately carved aromatic example with ivory accents with foliate pierced fretwork centering carved and inlaid scene of 8 immortals on one side, two maidens in conversation on opposing side. The whole mounted on pierce carved rosewood base. NB: Santalum Album (Indian Sandalwood) is best known and valued for its strong, pungent fragrance.
