Background is the Bay of Venice harbor, under the night sky with full moon, strongly but gently reflecting upon the dark still greenish-blue waters of the Adriatic Sea. The full moon silhouette of the City of Venice stands behind in peaceful, yet dramatic, glowing colors of grayish blue and silver and shadow browns. Foreground is a man and woman in a small boat, near a Venetian island shoreline, under the dark gold tones of a bending tree in the calm glimmering moonlit seascape. Signed lower left “George H Bogert”. Back of canvas, in artist hand, is title, artist & address, price. Housed in a gilt wood frame. Painted 1931″ and “Property Mr. Arthur D. Lord”. Arthur D. Lord was an esteemed art collector & owner of “Lord and Thomas Advertising”. Also, Arthur Lord was a long time member of the Salamander Club of Art Collectors. SIZE: 24″ x 36″.
