SPENCER CIVIL WAR CARBINE WITH BRASS TACKS. Cal .50. 22” round bbl. Standard markings and features except for the line of small brass tacks entirely surrounding the buttplate. 24 tacks remain but 10 empty holes show where round shank tacks have been removed. These are not missing tacks, the pattern has been changed on the gun. SN 42879. CONDITION: Covered with a heavy mixture of dirt, rust and dried oil. Stock has been varnished at least twice with some of the finish remaining and bare areas in some places. Mechanically good. 4-49564 FS86 (1,500-2,000)
