SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1867 CADET TYPE RIFLE. Cal .50. 29-3/4” round bbl. Lockplate has the proper 1867 date at the rear. The 1866 dated breech block has the two large cuts on the bottom. It also has the number “4” stamped on the bottom. The wrist of the stock has been sanded and refinished. The “ESA” cartouche is partially visible at the front end of the refinished area. The ramrod has a treaded tip but there is no corresponding nut in the stock. NSN. CONDITION: Smooth gray patina with light pitting. Wood shows normal use except in the refinished area of the wrist. 4-49288 X3 (2,500-3,000)
