CASED COLT BABY DRAGOON PERCUSSION REVOLVER. CAL. 31. Usual configuration with 6″ oct. bbl without rammer. The cylinder has an Indian fight scene with brass trigger guard and back strap and 1-pc walnut grips. Accompanied by an orig. Baby Dragoon case, but made for the 5″ model. The case is altered to accept the longer bbl by having a small recess cut in the end of the case. The case contains an early Colt’s patent eagle flask, brass bullet mold, nipple wrench, Eley cap tin and a pack of skin cartridges. SN 5323 CONDITION: The bbl retains about 70% dull, orig. blue with the balance flaked to a light patina. The frame retains traces of case colors with the balance a light gray patina. The cylinder retains about 75-80% Indian fight scene and 15-25% thin blue with a series of small nicks in one area. The grip frame retains about 40% thin silver-plating. The grips are sound and retain 60-70% orig. varnish. Bright shiny bore. The flask is a dark mustard color with traces of orig. finish and one small dent with a slightly open seam. The bullet mold is excellent and bright. The case with a hairline in the lid is otherwise sound and retains about 85/90% orig. varnish. 4-45497 Z296 (3,500-5,000)
