FRENCH COUNTERTOP ROULETTE WHEEL/MATCH DISPENSER. Often times this early 19th century gambling roulette wheel would have been found in a French bistro or American saloon. One would gamble with his drinking friend and spin the wheel to see who bought the next round. A finely painted scene of a French couple among background frame stands above an elaborate casting of a fish. Wheel is brass with gambling markers while the base is cast iron. SIZE: 12-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Overall very good. Hand painted background scene has a fair amount of paint loss. 1-10622 (1,500-2,500)
