WELL-DETAILED WORKING MODEL OF A STUART VERTICAL TWIN-CYLINDER MARINE ENGINE. The well-constructed all brass and bronze model appears to be late 19th century and is mounted on a later 4-1/2″ x 6-3/4” walnut base 7/8” thick. Each cylinder is mounted atop a split-pedestal base and driving a center-mounted crankshaft through the center of the pedestal base. The solid recessed flywheel is 1-7/8” in dia. The overall height of this model is 5-3/4 –lgth 6”. Steam inlet/oulets are on either side of each cylinder head. The ends of each cylinder head. The ends of each cylinder head are embossed with the letter “S”. The model operates in either direction on steam or compressed air, but is tight due to the dried grease and oil. CONDITION: Untouched attic condition. Dark unpolished patina on the brass. Coating of old grease and oil. “Gem Quality”. 1-10552 (600-800)
