ZOETROPE & A VERY NICE EARLY KALEIDOSCOPE. 1) Revolving Zoetrope would flash animated images onto screen or wall. This late 1800s home entertainment device precluded movie films, projectors and blue ray! Box top is marked “Le Cinematographe Enfantin” (French). Approx. 15 paper “films” show children at play, blacks, steeple chases and more. 2) Early wood, brass and glass early kaleidoscope depicting telescope form. Exciting images via colorful millefiori and miniature twisted ropes of glass inside. SIZE: Kaleidoscope is 14″ l. PROVENANCE: Barbara J. Thornsjo Estate, Albion, Maine. CONDITION: 1) Complete, good to very good overall. 2) Good to very good and working. 1-10733 (400-800)
