SIDNEY ADVERTISING CLOCK. This monumental one-of-a-kind clock from Watertown, NY was manufactured by the Sidney Clock Co., Sidney, NY circa 1895. In addition to the time clock it also featured a separate movement for rotating three bottom advertising drums every five minutes (now absent from this example). Spectacular R.O.G. hand lettered advertisements embellished with glitter and mother-of-pearl include “F.B.R. Cigar-F.B. Richards & Co., Binghamton, NY” across the top. The central panel carries advertisements for “F. B. Kelley-Dealers in Eagle Lager”, “Kelly’s Lemon Sour-a Specialty” and “Watertown Brewing Co., Manufacturers of Ales & Porter, Watertown, N.Y.”. The bottom panel reads: “Grand Central-Leading Clothiers, Streeter & Brimmer, 16 Public Square”. The paper clock face reads: “Silas L. George”. SIZE: 28″ w. x 69″ h. x 11″ d. CONDITION: Some moderate lifting to areas of reverse paint, predominantly to the black background; some wood pieces need re-gluing.
