PAPER MACHE TUMBLING TOY WITH ORIGINAL BOX. Fantastic European toy with two Paper Mache figures with long feet in courtly garb joined by two covered tubes held at their sides (believed to be filled with mercury). Wallpaper covered wooden box opens up to create a series of 8 steps. Place them on the top two steps and in theory, these acrobats were supposed to have “leap frogged” down the steps like an early Slinky. SIZE: Figures measure 3 1/2″ h. box (closed) 15 1/2″ l. CONDITION: Clothing shows some melting. Figures have some small chips and feet have been repaired. Overall, good to very good. Box storage area appears stuck in closed position. 1-6385 AT (700-900)
