18-1/2” KESTNER “BRU” DOLL. An exceptional example of a German doll manufacturer copying a French Bebe! This doll imitates a Circle-Dot Bru, as it has a similar facial expression as the Bebe. An excellent example, this doll has extremely pale bisque, gray-blue sleep eyes, open-closed mouth with molded teeth. She’s wearing antique clothing, shoes and perhaps her original blonde mohair wig with plaster pate. What sets this doll apart is the fact that she is on a chunky multi-balled, straight-wristed composition body with the rare jointed ankle. CONDITION: Overall condition is very fine.
