FINE CARVED FISHMONGER’S TRADE SIGN. Late 19th/Early 20th Century. Brace of nicely carved fish, joined by strap-work at the tails and further fitted with an iron bracket for hanging. Each fish fully carved with scales and fins, the larger with metal teeth. Originally painted in blue. SIZE: 67-1/2″L X 17″W (overall). CONDITION: Now stripped of painted surfaces. Structurally very good with old superficial damage to underside of larger fish’s jaw. 9-21247 (2,800-3,200)
