MEISSEN FIGURAL GROUP. Second half 19th Century. Depicting a woman and child gathering flowers beneath a fruit tree being observed by a gentleman in tricorn hat, pocket watch extended in left hand on a rocky oval garland tied plinth. Polychrome decorated overall in fine, bright detail. Marked beneath the plinth with under-glaze blue crossed swords. SIZE: 9-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: From the private collection of Dorothy-Lee Jones. CONDITION: Damages and losses to tree limbs and foliage, and to right hand fingertip of gentleman. Some losses to leafage on base. Otherwise very good with strong colors. 9-21444 (800-1,200)
