SCANDINAVIAN PAINTED SINGLE DOOR WARDROBE. Mid 19th century. The molded cornice with canted corners on the conforming case fitted with a single door with fielded panels above a single drawer on a molded base. Painted decorated overall with polychrome compass roses on cream panels within persimmon borders all on a dark blue/green field. SIZE: 70-3/4″ h x 43-1/2″ w x 19″ d. PROVENANCE: Barbara J. Thornsjo Estate, Albion, Maine CONDITION: With original painted surfaces. Losses to moldings and to drawer front. Two feet missing. Substantial surface scratches overall resulting from pets. 9-20887 (400-600)
