LOUIS XVI STYLE CARVED GILTWOOD MIRROR. First quarter 19th Century. The beveled break-arch mirror plate within a carved framework of beading and egg-and-dart molding surmounted by a carved crest of crossed torches applied with a wreath and supporting a floral garland, flanked by flambeau urns. The base with a ribbon-tied pendant. SIZE: 51″h x 33″w (overall). PROVENANCE: Woolworth Collection (F.W. Woolworth Dept. Store). CONDITION: Mirror retains original beveled plate, backboards and gilding. Areas of gesso intact but in need of professional reinforcement and cosmetic restoration.
