NEW ENGLAND SHERATON BIRCH CHEST OF DRAWERS. Circa 1840, probably the State of Maine. The rectangular top with turret corners above the conforming case fitted with four long drawers, each inlaid with birdseye maple panels within crossbanded borders. The four pilasters of engaged reeded columns continuing to shaped ring-turned legs terminating in suppressed ball feet. The whole in a red wash. SIZE: 40-1/2″ h overall x 42-1/2″ w overall x 19-1/4″ d overall. CONDITION: Very good overall with original surfaces, hardware, and backboards.
