Oil on canvas mounted on masonite half portrait shows a middle age woman seated in a red chair wearing a black dress, lace collar and sheer white bonnet. Her hand rests on the red covered chair arm and she has a burgundy color wrap over her arms. Signed lower left “A G Hoit 1841″. Housed in a replacement gilt wood frame. SIZE: 34″ x 28”. PROVENANCE: Private Boston area collection. CONDITION: Restored with inpainting, good. 9-97843 (1,000-2,000)
