EDWARDIAN METAL-MOUNTED OAK THREE-DECANTER TANTALUS. Circa 1890. Of open form, the swiveling and locking silvered top with handle fitted to the open case with scrolling ends. Contains three square cut-glass stoppered decanters mounted on the oak plinth base, stamped on the silvered handle “BETJEMANN’S PATENT 26658 LONDON”. The opposing end stamped “THE TANTALUS”. SIZE: 12-1/2″ h. x 16-1/4″ l. x 6″ w. CONDITION: Retains original finish with good patina, handle with expected wear to silver plate exposing copper base. Decanters with minor flakes. Decanters and stoppers all original, locked and missing key. 9-90985 (350-450)
