AMERICAN CONTINUOUS ARM WINDSOR COMB-BACK CHAIR, PROBABLY PENNSYLVANIA. Circa 1780. The shaped crest above five spindles continuing through the bowed rail continuing to knuckle arms on turned supports joined to the oval chamfered saddle seat raised on splayed turned legs joined by a swelled H-form stretcher. SIZE: 48-1/2″ h. of back x 17-1/4″ h. of seat. CONDITION: Chair retains old black paint over original white paint with some filling and minor repairs to seat.
