INTERESTING PENCIL HIGHLIGHTED FULL LENGTH SILHOUETTE OF JAMES PORTER. The oval framed silhouette shows a man in formal outfit holding a top hat at waist level. Backing paper has a 19th Century piece of paper affixed “To James Porter Esq. Accepted James Porter”. In newer writing on backing paper “Grandfather James Porter, Son of Mr. & Sarah Hamilton Porter of Harmony Hall, Lancaster County, PA. Husband of Mary Hamilton”. There is an early zerox copy of the signature and “Gallerie of Cuttings Cut by Master Hanks” affixed to back. White silhouette with a black border has pencil highlights as opposed to being a white cutout on black background. SIGHT SIZE: 10-1/2” x 6-1/2”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-72231 (800-1,200)
