EDWARD WILKINS WAITE (British, 1854-1924) THE FLOWERING COTTAGE. Outstanding oil on canvas English landscape shows a woman in doorway of red cottage with large chimney. A dirt path winds through garden area with colorful flowers. A make-do clothesline has clothes drying with a large red rose bush behind. A flowering tree is seen nestled up against the house. Beyond the house is a field with tree line. All under a blue and white cloud sky. Signed lower right “E W Waite”. Housed in a good gilt molded wood frame with gilt liner.
