UNSIGNED (18th/Early 19th Century) FLIGHT INTO EGYPT. Oil on wood panel scene shows a woman with child in lap resting in front of a large cliff with passageway/cave. A mule, steer, dog and sheep surround her with shepherd, man with mule and others with what appears to be a small harbor with mountains in the background. Unframed. The panel, which appears to be oak, has a series of old identifying numbers on back. SIZE: 18-1/4” x 25-1/4”. CONDITION: The panel has warp and repaired separation which goes the length of the board, 4” down from the top. In need of cleaning. Otherwise good. 9-29629 (300-500)
