FINE ENGLISH STERLING SILVER INK STAND. The hallmarked fancy stand marked “H.W. & Co. is inscribed “To H.B. Sawyer US Navy 1842”. “D. Derry Plymouth, England”. We believe that the Sawyer mentioned is Commander H. B. Saywer United States Navy. Stand fitted to receive two crystal inkwells, one with cover and the other with silver collar. The central fixed cup receives a small silver chamber stick with attached candle snuffer. SIZE: 5-1/2” h x 10-1/2” l x 7” w. CONDITION: Very good. 9-27542 (300-500)
