CLEMENTE TAFURI (Italian, 1903-1971) “GUADALAJARA 11-13 MARZO 1937”. Unframed oil on canvas shows an attack from air and land on a truck convoy with soldiers. Four tanks are seen coming out of the woods on top of brown uniformed soldiers. An outstanding action packed canvas with exploding truck, injured men, firing tanks and screaming planes. Signed lower right “C. Tafuri Roma XVI”. Titled on back of canvas. SIZE: 23-1/2” x 29-1/2”. CONDITION: Small canvas patch, very good. Restretched on new stretcher. 9-27127 (4,000-6,000)
