FABULOUS BLUE AND WHITE STAFFORDSHIRE SCENIC PLATTER AND STRAINER BY BAKER, BEVAN & IRWIN. This Swansea pottery commonly referred to as Glamorgan was in existence between 1813-1837. It was known for its transfer ware on opaque china. This is an outstanding example of their ware. Floral border encompasses a panoramic view of a man and woman on horseback next to man with scythe, cows in water, a mill, town and large castle. Unmarked. Circa 1820. Matching strainer impressed marked “Baker Bevan & Irwin”. SIZE: Platter is 18-3/4” x 14-1/2”. Strainer is 14” x 10-1/4”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-26254 (1,000-1,500)
