ROBERT PHILIPP (American, 1895-1981) DESSERT AT THE PARK. Fine oil on canvas scene shows a red haired young woman seated at a square table with sherbet dish and spoon. Her elbow rests on the edge of the table and her hand is under her chin. Behind her is the New York skyline in back of a small body of water with several rowboats and people. Signed lower left “Philipp”. Housed in a fine partial gilt carved wood frame, which is probably original. The frame has label “Made by D. Matt New York, N Y”. Also black marker “NYAA 193”. Back of canvas has artist’s name. SIZE: 24-1/4” x 20-1/4”. CONDITION: Light craquelure, small area of chipping on table. Otherwise very good. 9-27016 (15,000-20,000)
