VICTOR NEHLIG (American, 1830-1909) THE FAGOT GATHERER. Oil on board scene shows young girl breaking branch off tree in rock strewn woods. Small gathering of branches is at her feet. She wears a red dress, white shirt and white bonnet. Signed lower left “V. Nehlig” and dated what appears to be 1885. Housed in a fine large deep gesso decorated period frame. SIZE: 10-1/2” x 8-1/2”.
