DELUXE SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 45-90. Spectacular rifle with extra length, 30” bbl, full magazine with half nickel front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. It has spectacular, highly figured, center crotch cut wood with checkered forearm and straight grip stock with crescent steel buttplate. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum letter identifying this rifle and indicating shipment Sept. 2, 1891. SN 61080. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus. Bbl retains 96-97% strong bright original blue. The magazine tube 97-98% strong bright blue. The receiver, foreend cap, buttplate, lever and hammer retain most of their original case colors, slightly faded and thin on the top and bottom of the receiver and foreend cap. The lever and hammer are brilliant with the buttplate faded. The extraordinary wood is sound and retains most of its original bright piano finish with minor handling and storage marks. Brilliant shiny bore. This rifle is possibly unfired as the bolt face has virtually all its original factory blue and the loading gate shows no evidence of use. 4-49966 JR216 (15,000-25,000)
