THEODORE ROOSEVELT SIGNED LETTER. The typed letter pen signed on White House letterhead as President of the United States. Dated June 14th, 1906. The recipient, Frederic J. Stimson (1855-1943) was Harvard professor of comparative legislation, Wilson’s ambassador to Argentina (1914-1921, co-founder of the “Harvard Lampoon” and the author of notable works of both fiction and law. Roosevelt writes “My Dear Stimson”. Regarding an earlier letter by Stimson and giving thanks for a syllabus provided the President by the recipient. “Yes, question 2 warrants your quotation from Browning, and I am not surprised that the class should have given as many distinct answers as if they were required clearly to explain some of Browning’s own more intricate poems”. Folio sheet folded to one page, 8vo, fine with four correction in Roosevelt’s hand. SIZE: 9” x 7”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-27156 (500-750)
