ANTONIO NICOLO GASPARO JACOBSEN (American, 1850-1921) SHIP PORTRAIT OF THE “SOUTHAMPTON”. Oil on board ship portrait shows the three-mast black hulled ship in full sail sailing right to left in heavy sea. The waves are green and blue with white tips under a blue and cloud sky. Fourteen figures are seen on deck with the ships name emblazoned in gold on the bow. Signed lower right “Antonio Jacobsen 1918”. Housed in a good gilt molded wood replacement frame. SIZE: 12” x 20”.
