GILTWOOD GIRONDOLE MIRROR. First quarter 19th century. The convex round mirror plate within an ebonized slip within a molded deep frame joined to a pair of single light candle arms on scrolled supports. Surmounted by stylized giltwood dragon on a Classical acanthus carved pedestal flanked by scrolling carved leaf tips, each mounted with a central rosette. The mirror base applied with a pediment of leaf tips. SIZE: 39″ h overall x 22-1/2″ dia of mirror frame, 25-1/2″ w overall. CONDITION: With minor and cosmetic restoration to areas of gilding.
