8 WEDGWOOD UNIVERSITY OF MAINE SERVICE PLATES. First half 20th century. Decorated in blue and white, each with a pine bough border and a rondel of the seal of the University of Maine centering a rondel depicting an edifice on the grounds of the University. Each plate depicting a different view. Marked on the reverse with various marks including incised Wedgwood mark “Wedgwood Etruria, England” in underglaze, the mark of the Boston importers “Jones, McDuffle & Stratton Co, Boston”, and each mark with the identification of the scene. SIZE: Each 10-1/4″ dia. CONDITION: One plate with quarter-inch old hairline crack at rim, otherwise very fine condition overall. 9-91466 (240-400)
