GEORGIAN SLANT LID DESK WITH BOOK MATCHED WALNUT FACE.

England late 18th century having veneer top, front and drawers all with book matched panels with herringbone banding and framed with traverse grain mitered frames. The desk with bead molded fall front revealing pine fitted interior with central tombstone arch paneled door, six pigeon holes with two having secret arched drawers. The central door flanked by two fluted secret document drawers and having six thin storage drawers retaining original hardware and having banded veneer fronts. Below the lid having four graduated doors and two pull out slides with Georgian style hardware. The case mounted on a short bracket base. The pine backboards of nailed construction.
